Ro-Mac Lumber & Supply

Ro-Mac Circa 1950'sRo-Mac Lumber & Supply was founded in 1945 by the McDonald and Robuck families when they jointly purchased Woods Lumber Company in Green Cove Springs, Florida. A second yard was opened in Tallahassee, Florida in 1945, and the company officially took the Ro-Mac name with the purchase of Leesburg Lumber and Supply in 1947.

The flagship store in Leesburg went through a major renovation in 1950, and was a leading provider of construction materials in the Central Florida area. In 1972, a fire devastated the facility, and the Robuck family, along with members of the community, rebuilt the facility.

During the 1980′s, the company added its door shop, and expanded the Leesburg operation to offer more services to the professional customer. In January 1988, Dan Robuck, a successful practicing attorney in Central Florida, took the lead and became sole owner and CEO.

Under Dan Robuck’s direction, the company opened a store in Lady Lake, and acquired Golden Triangle Supply in Mount Dora in the early 1990′s. The company greatly expanded its garage door installation business with several acquisitions, and it became a leading provider of commercial doors and hardware.

In January 1998, Don Magruder, Ro-Mac Lumber’s Chief Executive Officer joined the company, and oversaw the construction and opening of a Truss Plant facility in Leesburg. In addition, Ro-Mac Lumber has expanded, and it is now presently supplying millwork and building materials throughout the Southeastern United States.

Ro-Mac’s Truss Plant was opened adjacent to the retail store in Leesburg in the fall of 1999, and enjoys a reputation for building some of the best steel and wood trusses in Central Florida.

Ro-Mac Lumber expanded to the Ocala, Florida market in March 2001, with the opening of its low cost commodity rail yard. The Ocala operation provides low cost building materials to the Marion County area. In 2005, this operation was expanded to include a full line of custom windows and doors and currently has one of the finest showrooms in the state of Florida.

On March 8, 2003, “Buck” Robuck, Ro-Mac Lumber’s founder, passed away leaving a legacy of high quality, superior service, which continues to guide the company today.

In 2005, Ro-Mac Lumber expanded its garage door and window installation businesses into freestanding operations, and today both are dominant suppliers in Central Florida. Both operations install full lines of Florida-code-approved products with after-sale-service, which is unmatched in the industry.

The Ro-Mac Lumber Design Center opened in 2012, and offers complete blueprint services for residential addition, remodel, and new home projects. Using the latest  technology in CAD Design, the Design Center offers superior customer service when planning any project.

The history of Ro-Mac Lumber is a rich heritage of service to Central Florida, and the company will continue to be a major supplier to the professional customer in this area as well as in the state.
